 About

UltimateIntern.com is an internship reviews and ratings website. Our goal is to be the number one resource for internship reviews and a place for interns to come and get solid advice and recommendations. Our comprehensive reviews will truly help to guide students and entry level candidates.

Other internship sites just offer generic advice or job posts. Many times the job posts are from temp agencies or they are from companies that have ties with the website. Your next internship might sound like a dream, but it could be exaggerated and the internship website will of course allow it. The question is, "How is the actual internship in reality, and what do other interns have to say about it". Now that is useful advice and certainly worth reading and taking into consideration.

Existing internship review sites offer a quick "hot or not" approach to the reviews. Reading about an internship with 5/5 stars and a single comment "It was fun!" just isn't all that useful. Why was it fun? How well did it pay? Did you learn a significant amount and will it help with your career? What were some of your daily tasks? A comprehensive review is what you need and that's what we aim to provide.

Companies should not be allowed to lure in unsuspecting interns to fetch coffee all day or to solely cold call for 8 straight hours when they aren't upfront about it. Sure, these things have to be done and they might even be the necessary foot-in-the-door route. But let’s not sugar coat it. Let's not have companies post an internship opening for "Motivated student to assist financial advisers in numerous (exciting?) activities, work with (industry?) software, interact with (senior?) management etc" when the truth is very different. Lets have a real intern give you the low down, " You cold call almost all day long, and once and a while you help with some spreadsheets. I never met senior management but my managers were cool and very helpful. You can watch how they work and learn a lot and they will answer any questions, so ask a lot. You can bump into other advisers and definitely network with many people. It is boring to call but you learn the art of selling. The people, pay, and location were worth it." If the internship simply wasn’t fair then intern reviews will say so, and this will save the next intern.

We will continue to update the site and work to gain as many reviews as possible. We will provide advice articles on all aspects of internships and current news. This site is, and always will be, for the benefit of interns.
